The Northwestern women's team announced Monday that it will face Southern California at Wrigley Field next season on Saturday, April 26. The game -- part of a marketing partnership announced by Northwestern and baseball's Chicago Cubs earlier this year -- will be played at 8 p.m. and be televised by the Big Ten Network.
The matchup pits Northwestern coach Kelly Amonte Hiller (Maryland), who has guided the Wildcats to seven national titles, against one of her most successful former players, Trojans coach Lindsey Munday. Last spring, Northwestern and Southern California played in the first-ever lacrosse game at the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum -- a milestone that also served as the Trojans' Division I debut. The Wildcats, who won, 18-5, have also played at the Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., home of the New England Patriots.
