To many in the hockey world, that's the ultimate sign of disrespect. So now it's payback time.
A group of Blackhawks fans -- Chris Wilkerson, Mark Wegener and Josh Kaye -- decided to get their revenge on the pop star by doing the exact same thing as he did.
Well, pretty much the same thing. They had their photo taken while standing on a giant cutout of Bieber's face in multiple locations at the team's annual fan convention Saturday at the Hilton Chicago.
“We don't appreciate bandwagoners,” they said in an email to Yahoo! Sports. “When we saw Justin Bieber not only stand on the logo, but touch the cup as well, we were astonished.”
The initial plan was to stand on the ubiquitous crooner's mug right in front of the Stanley Cup itself. When they were denied by security, the guys went with Plan B.
"If we can't take it in front of the cup, we will take it EVERYWHERE else!” they said.
The results are pretty hilarious and are posted on the trio's newly created Twitter feed, @StandOnBieber. The gang stood on the Biebs in a fake locker room, with team mascot Tommy Hawk, in front of a Stanley Cup replica made of beer caps, and with numerous other Blackhawks fans and players (well, posters of the players).
They even placed the singer's face under a Zamboni.
These guys really showed Bieber what it's like to be on the receiving end of his own actions. Let's just hope, for his sake, that fans of Bill Clinton or mop buckets don't get the same idea. Now that could get really ugly.
