The Kansas City Chiefs have hired Doug Pederson as their new offensive coordinator and have also hired Bob Sutton as the team's new defensive coordinator.

Pederson played under Andy Reid in Philadelphia and was named the club's quarterbacks coach in 2011.  Pederson's experience was mostly spent behind the scenes in the NFL as he was a backup for Brett Favre, Dan Marino and Donovan McNabb.

Sutton joins the Chiefs from the New York Jets where he was the linebackers coach and also the defensive coordinator for three years (2006-08).

Joining Pederson on the offensive staff is Eric Bieniemy as running backs coach, Matt Nagy as quarterbacks coach and David Culley as assistant head coach/wide receivers coach.

Barry Rubin will become the new strength and conditioning coach along with assistant Travis Crittenden.  Other positions announced today include Tom Melvin (tight ends), Tommy Brasher (defensive line), Mike Frazier (statistical analysis coordinator) and Cory Matthaei and Brett Reid (Coach Reid's son) as quality control assistants.
