Don Lambert hit a towering grand slam in the eighth inning, capping a six run inning for Wichita State as they push past Oral Roberts, 7-2 Tuesday night.
Lambert, who is in his first year with the Shockers after transferring from Baylor, ended the night going 2 for 2 with 4 RBI's and the grand slam.
Tim Kelley started the night for the Shockers, pitching four shutout innings. Bryan Flynn got the win after relieving Kelley.
The game was scoreless into the fifth inning when WSU got on the board when Kevin Hall grounded out to second, scoring Garrett Bayliff from third base.
After ORU tied the game at 1, the Shocks moved in front with a Johnny Coy double scored Hall. WSU made it a 3-1 advantage after a walk pulled another across, loading the bases for Lambert. He hit the first pitch he saw.
WSU's next action is this Friday when they host North Dakota in a three game series.
