SAN DIEGO—Slumping Brian Giles doubled in the winning run in the 10th inning and the San Diego Padres snapped a six-game losing streak with a 2-1 victory over the Colorado Rockies.
Giles' one-out double off Matt Daley scored pinch-hitter Edgar Gonzalez from first base to give the Padres their third win in the last 15 games.
Gonzalez reached on a one-out walk and Giles hit a ball off the right center-field wall that allowed Gonzalez to score the winning run without a throw.
Giles, who came into the game hitting .153 and was on a 3-for-27 skid, batted in the leadoff spot and went 2 for 3 with two walks.
Heath Bell pitched two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out four strikeouts for the win.
