Washington was a slight favorite going into Saturday's game against Oregon State. After getting crushed 38-21, the Huskies can only hope they are favorites again next week in the Apple Cup at Qwest Field.

The Huskies lost their third straight game despite two early touchdown passes from Nick Motnana in his first career start, and despite 109 yards rushing from running back Chris Polk.

Oregon State quarterback Sean Mannion completed 26 passes for 337 yards as the Huskies were unable to slow down the Beaver air attack.

The game was close headed to halftime. Oregon State kicked field goal in the closing seconds of the half to take the lead 17-14. The Beavers never looked back, extending their lead to 31-14 before injured quarterback Keith Price entered the game for Washington.

Price led the Huskies to a quick touchdown, making the score 31-21. Washington had a chance to bring the game within one score late, but a Price pass was intercepted at the 1 yard line. Oregon State then drove the length of the field to secure the 38-21 victory.
