A first-half goal by Fredy Montero was enough to vault the Sounders FC to the championship game of the U.S. Open Cup for the third straight year. Seattle topped FC Dallas, 1-0, and will now host the Chicago Fire in the championship game on Tuesday October 4 at The Clink.
The Sounders are trying to become the first team since 1969 to win the U.S. Open Cup three years in a row.
