The Seattle Seahawks have signed unrestricted free agents defensive tackle Alan Branch, guard Robert Gallery, quarterback Tarvaris Jackson and receiver Sidney Rice, the team announced. On Monday, the Seahawks also reached a deal to re-sign cornerback Kelly Jennings, SI.com reported.
The Seahawks also re-signed linebackers Leroy Hill and Matt McCoy, defensive tackle Brandon Mebane, fullback Michael Robinson and rookie free agent kicker Wes Byrum. Third-round pick John Moffitt also signed, rounding out Seattle's 2011 draft class.
Branch spent the last four seasons in Arizona after being selected in the second round (33rd overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played in 47 career games with three starts, all coming in 2010, with 74 career stops (55 solo) and 4.0 sacks.
Gallery was Oakland's first-round pick (2nd overall) in the 2004 NFL Draft and started 91 of 92 career games played for the Raiders. He began his career at right tackle, moved to left tackle in his third season before starting at left guard the last four seasons. Gallery started all 12 games played in 2010.
Jackson, a second-round pick (64th overall) in the 2006 NFL Draft, spent his first five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. He played in 36 games with 20 starts, completed 354 of 603 passes for 3,984 yards with 24 touchdowns and 22 interceptions. He also rushed 119 times for 535 yards with four touchdowns.
Rice joins Jackson from Minnesota where the Vikings selected him in the second-round (44th overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft. He has started 26 of 48 career games, collecting 146 receptions for 2,129 yards with a long of 63 and 18 touchdowns. Rice was voted to the Pro Bowl after a career-year in 2009 with 83 receptions for 1,312 yards and eight touchdowns.
