Seattle Storm center Lauren Jackson underwent successful surgery to repair the labrum in her left hip, the team announced today. The surgery took place Thursday morning at the Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo. and was performed by
Dr. Marc J. Philippon.
Jackson remains at the Steadman Clinic and is resting comfortably.
The surgery consisted of a labral repair and removal of a small bone spur that was part of the condition. Jackson has already begun rehabilitation, and estimated recovery is 8-12 weeks.
Jackson’s teammates just concluded a visit to the White House Wednesday, celebrating the 2010 WNBA championship. The team is now in Connecticut for a game against the Sun, Fri., July 1. The road trip continues at Washington, July 3 and at Indiana, July 5. Seattle’s next home game is July 9 vs. Los Angeles.
