Josh McRoberts has started 29 games for the Pacers this season and is averaging 6.4 points per game and 5.5 rebounds a contest. While he hasn't had an All-Star season, he has been a major contributor for the Pacers, who currently hold the 7th position in the Eastern Conference Standings.

Nobody thinks the former Carmel Greyhound deserves to hear his name called prior to the NBA All-Star game, however, his athleticism and ability to make SportsCenter-type plays make McRoberts a good candidate for the Slam Dunk contest.

The NBA recently announced the competitor list, which didn't include McRoberts. (Blake Griffin, JaVale McGee, Serge Ibaka and Brandon Jennings) However, before the list was announced, McRoberts and teammate Brandon Rush had been conspiring to have some fun and try to create incentive for "McBob" to get into the contest. This video, courtesy of DIME Magazine, is the fruits of their labor. While not award-winning acting, and doesn't actually include any of McRoberts dunking skills, it is reason enough to put Josh on the short list of people to consider, should one of the aforementioned contestants have to withdraw.

What do you think of the video and of McRoberts chances, should he get into the contest? Feel free to leave feedback via twitter @jjfox59sports and hear what Danny Granger has to say about McRoberts the dunker tonight on Fox 59 News at 10.
