MEN’S BASKETBALL
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — Antonio Jenifer scored 27 points to lead Hagerstown Community College to a 95-92 overtime win over Harcum on Friday night at the Monroe College Tournament.
Christian Leach added 19 points off the bench for the Hawks, who improved to 11-0 on the season. Dante Thomas had a double-double with 11 points and 12 assists, while Jenifer added six rebounds and five assists.
HCC plays Monroe today at 4 p.m.

ST. JAMES — Nnamdi Enechionyia scored a game-high 21 points to lead Saint James to a season-opening IPSL rout of Maryland School for the Deaf (0-1).
Obi Enechionyia had 15 points and seven rebounds and Sherman Harris had seven points and eight assists for the Saints (1-0), who led 36-14 at halftime.

Sarah Haynes scored a game-high 27 points to lead Berkeley Springs past St. Maria Goretti.
Casey Solomon had 11 points and Lauren Schetrompf had eight points, including two 3-pointers, for the Indians (2-0).
Maggie Murray had 10 points, including two 3-pointers, and Abbey Eich chipped in nine points for the Gaels (1-2).

Spikefest set for today
The Washington County Juniors volleyball organization will once again conduct the Spikefest all-star event for high school seniors and eighth-graders today at South Hagerstown High School.
The eighth-grade match will kick off the evening at 6, with the high school seniors game following at 7:30. Admission is $3.

Hawks’ Manning an All-American
Hagerstown Community College sophomore middle hitter Elise Manning has been given honorable mention on the 2012 NJCAA Division II All-America team.
Entering the national tournament, Manning averaged 3.40 kills per set and ranked second nationally with a .462 hitting efficiency and 1.64 blocks per set.
