The junior goalie made 10 saves to preserve a 2-1 upset of then-No. 10 Glenelg for the Howard County championship.
Snyder, who has a .915 save rate, led the No. 11 Eagles as they avenged a 7-4 regular-season loss to Glenelg, which had beaten Centennial for last year's title. She also made three saves in the regional opener, a 3-0 win over Wilde Lake.
A field hockey player since sixth grade, the Futures veteran plays for the SParks club team and won a silver medal at last summer's Junior Olympics.
Snyder, a "B" student who transferred from Hershey, Pa., before last season, struggled through last fall after the death of her father but has enjoyed a breakout season this fall.
"I started to come to terms with what happened over the last year and a half," she said. "I know he's on my shoulder every time I play. I know he's watching."
Others considered: Sara Bailey, C. Milton Wright, cross country; Alexa Carney, Towson, volleyball; Natasha Jensen, Wilde Lake, volleyball; Bailey Webster, St. Paul's, volleyball.
