The 5-foot-9 middle hitter had 10 kills, six blocks and eight digs as South Carroll upset Boonsboro for its first state volleyball championship.
Will's hitting and blocking helped a strong Cavaliers team effort in avenging a 3-0 regular-season loss to the Warriors with a 25-19, 13-25, 25-15, 25-23 victory Saturday for the Class 1A state title She also served two aces and did not have a service error. In the four-game semifinal victory over Havre de Grace, the junior had 11 kills, eight blocks and 18 digs.
Will led the Cavaliers (13-6) with 2.5 kills and 1.5 blocks per game this season. A club player since seventh grade, she plays for the Carroll County Volleyball Club.
She has a 4.1 grade point average and is considering a career in forensic science. She is not sure whether she wants to play college volleyball.
