Player of the Year

Sean Mosley St. Frances

Mosley was touted as one of the best players in the area coming into this season, and the Maryland-bound senior lived up to the billing.

He moved into second place in the state in scoring with 2,933 points. He averaged 23.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game and saved his best performances for the end of the season, leading St. Frances to the Baltimore Catholic League tournament title.

He had 79 points in three games in the BCL tournament, including a season-high 35 against rival Mount St. Joseph. Then he rose to the occasion in the prestigious Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament in Frostburg, scoring 89 points in three games.

Coach of the Year

Herman Harried Lake Clifton

Lakers coach Herman Harried contends that the best team he has ever coached was his 1999 state championship team. But this year's team was pretty close.

"This team spoke for itself, and it's probably one of the best teams I've had except for the team from '99," Harried said. "We were Baltimore City champions, 3A regional champions; we won a difficult holiday tournament [Churchill Christmas Tournament] and won two Basketball Academy games against good teams. I still think we're No. 1."

No. 5 Lake Clifton also ran off a metro-area best 22 straight victories before being knocked off by Long Reach in the state semifinals, 62-59.
