Player of the Year

Cammeron Woodyard, Winters Mill

The 6-foot-5 senior moved from forward to his natural position of guard this season, as he led his team to the Class 2A state title. Woodyard, who has orally committed to Penn State, averaged 20.3 points, five rebounds and three assists per game, shooting 36 percent from three-point range. He did some of his best work in the state tournament, finishing with 22 points and 12 rebounds in an upset win over Gwynn Park in the semifinals, and then scoring 13 to go along with nine rebounds and five steals in the final against Randallstown.

Coach of the Year

Dave Herman, Winters Mill

Following a 3-4 start, Herman's Falcons stunned area basketball observers at the Class 2A state tournament, defeating Gwynn Park, at the time the No. 5 team in the Washington area, and then-No.2 Randallstown, to give Carroll County its first state champion since 1947. Winters Mill won 12 straight to close out the season to finish 20-6, including 10-2 in Carroll County and 8-0 in the Monocacy Valley Athletic League's Blue Ridge Conference. Though unranked for much of the season, the Falcons finished ranked No. 2 in the metro area.
