Mount St. Joseph soccer star Brett St. Martin commits to Maryland

Mount Saint Joseph soccer standout Brett St. Martin, an All-Metro first-team central defender and four-year starter, has made a commitment to play at Maryland.

Also a two-year captain, St. Martin helped lead the Gaels to a 14-3-2 mark with 10 shutouts last season. He also had five goals and four assists.

Earlier this month, he was one of 22 players from across the country named to the All-USA Today Preseason Boys Soccer Team. Archbishop Curley standout Nick Richardson, another Maryland commit, also made the list.

St. Martin maintains a 4.33 grade point average and plans to major in business at Maryland.

“We’re super excited,” said Mike St. Martin, his father and Mount Saint Joseph coach. “It’s a top program for soccer and he wants to go into business and they have a great business school which was another huge factor.”
