Girls Athlete of the Week: Imani Bailey, Meade, basketball

The senior guard led the No. 6 Mustangs to a pair of key victories last week, and they remain on track to win their second straight Anne Arundel County championship and advance to next week's District V championship. In a 65-58 win over then-No. 12 Annapolis, Bailey had 22 points, nine rebounds, five assists and five steals. She scored six of the Mustangs' final 10 points to help them hold onto first place in the county standings. In Friday's 77-44 win over Old Mill, she came within two assists of a triple double, finishing with 31 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and three steals. Bailey averages 23 points, 5.6 rebounds and 6.3 assists. She has a 3.5 GPA, plans to become a nurse, and has signed to play at Howard.
