In Carroll County, Winters Mill built an early lead and hung on to defeat No. 11 South Carroll, 189-183, to retain the Carroll County wrestling championship.
North Carroll and host Westminster tied for third with 144 points.
The Falcons were led by Ryan Barron at 160 pounds and Jake Utz at 220 pounds. Both won county titles at their weights.
Barron recorded two pins and an 8-0 major decision over Century’s Wes Dantzler in the finals. Utz, the defending county champion and state runner up at 285 last year, scored two pins within the first minute and a 9-4 decision en route to his victory.
Cole Myers, at 182 pounds, placed second for Winters Mill, losing in his final to Jake Pooton of South Carroll.
