St. Frances senior forward Eral Penn, an All-Metro second-team selection in the 2016-17 season, has committed to Long Island University Brooklyn.
The 6-foot-5 Penn led the Panthers (16-18) with 16 points and nine rebounds -- both team highs as they advanced to the Baltimore Catholic League semifinals.
"He was our best player all year and led a young team with leadership and production. The sky's the limit for Eral and he's just scratching the surface getting better every day," St. Frances coach Nick Myles said.
Long Island plays Division I in the Northeast Conference and Penn will be playinig for first-year coach Derek Kellogg, who spent the past nine seasons as head coach at Massachusetts. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach at Memphis under current Kentucky coach John Calipari.
"It's a great fit with a new staff and being part of the first freshman class," Myles added.
Penn plans to major in business management.
