McDonogh jumps into top 5 in state media football poll

Elections

For the second week in a row, little changed in the Maryland High School Football Media State Poll as all the Baltimore-area teams stayed within one spot of the previous week's rankings. Only one team lost in Week Five – No. 16 Bishop McNamara, which dropped out of the poll.

Gilman remained No. 2 behind DeMatha, with Quince Orchard at No. 3 and Eastern Christian at No. 4.

McDonogh, with the state’s best record at 7-0, jumped into the top five, flipping spots with Old Mill, which dropped to No. 6 – the only change in the top 10

River Hill remained No. 9 and Meade stayed at No. 10 while Arundel and Dunbar each moved up a spot to No. 16 and No. 17 respectively. St. Paul’s is still No. 19 with the Crusaders’ next opponent, Archbishop Curley, moving up one position to No. 21.

Glenelg was among five team receiving votes.
