The Joppatowne boys basketball team, which claimed a 61-55 win over Bel Air on Wednesday to win the Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference championship, will have to forfeit the title along with two regular-season games following an unidentified rules infraction, league commissioner Bob Slagle said in an email.

In addition, the Mariners will have to play all of their playoff games on the road. Joppatowne, which was seeded first in the Class 1A East Section I, received a first-round bye and now will have to travel to Perryville on Monday with game time set for 6 p.m.
