Jemicy School, based in Owings Mills, has announced its upper school athletic program has been accepted into the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association in a number of sports.

The school's varsity boys soccer, lacrosse and basketball teams will compete in the MIAA's 'C' Conference starting in the fall of 2014 on a probationary period that will continue through the spring of 2015. After that period, Jemicy will have the opportunity to compete for championships with other area private schools in the conference.

Jemicy, founded in 1973, educates students with dyslexia or other related language-based learning differences.
