The threat of a little snow Wednesday afternoon has postponed several athletic events, including all of the regional dual meet wrestling tournaments held locally. By 2 p.m., Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard counties had called off all after-school activities.
The following postponed westling meets will be made up Thursday at 5:30 p.m.:
Class 2A-1A West at Winters Mill, involving Middletown, Mountain Ridge and Catoctin.
Class 2A-1A South at Glenelg, involving Oakland Mills, Poolesville and Surrattsville.
Cass 2A-1A North at Owings Mills, involving Edmondson, Sparrows Point and Dundalk.
Class 4A-3A North at Hereford, involving Urbana, Perry Hall and Eastern Tech.
Class 4A-3A East at River Hill, involving, South River, Stephen Decatur and Meade.
Patterson Mill, however, will compete at the Class 2A-1A regional wrestling meet because the Huskies were already en route to Parkside when Harford County after-school events were called off.
Also, the wrestling meet between Howard and Atholton has been postponed until Friday at 5:30 p.m.
With the postponement of the wrestling meet, two Thursday boys basketball games were shifted. Marriotts Ridge will play at Glenelg Friday at 5:30 and Centennial will play River Hill Friday at 5:30.
The girls basketball game between No. 2 McDonogh and No. 8 St. Vincent Pallotti was postponed until Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at McDonogh. The Eagles will try to close out their regular-season unbeaten in the IAAM A Conference.
