No. 8 City 55, Northwestern 17: The host Knights (5-0) limited the Wildcats to nine points in the first half and rolled. Omari George led City with 18 points and Dwayne Morgan added 12.

No. 9 Edmondson 63, Mervo 35: Darrius Walker scored 18 and Isiah Trip put in 13 as the host Red Storm (4-0) beat the Mustangs. Rashard Lane added 13 rebounds.

No. 10 Centennial 62, Long Reach 49: Keonte Potts had 21 points and went 13-14 from the free throw line as the Eagles downed the host Lightning.

No 11 Arundel 55, Broadneck 46: David Nicholson lead all scorers with 26 as the Wildcats (3-0) beat the Bruins (2-1) yesterday. Darnell Soloman had 21 for the visitors.

No. 14 Calvert Hall 34, Chestnut Hill Academy (Pa) 31: Seven players scored for the visiting Cardinals (3-2), none with more than nine, to lift Calvert Hall over the Blue Devils. Milik Gamer scored 20 for Chestnut.

Boys’ Latin 62, Friends 46: BL’s Casey Rees led all scorers with 23 points in the opening round of the Laker Invitational. Colin Heacock added 17 points and Matt Rees pulled down 15 rebounds for Boys’ Latin.

Granite Baptist 49, Grace Christian 39: Curtis Few scored 20 points to power the Braves (7-0), who led 24-17 at the half.

Annapolis Area Christian School 49, Chapelgate Christian School 41: Connor Lipinski scored his 1,000th point and finished with 17 to lead the host Eagles (4-4) past the Yello Jackets.

No. 2 Digital Harbor 76, Forest Park 11: The Rams (2-1) used a 2-3 zone and exploited the Foresters for fast-breaks. A’Lexus Harrison scored 12 points, Kirsten Gaither-McDonald had 13 and Jaida Scarborough added 10.

No. 12 Western 58, Benjamin Franklin 22: Qierra Murray had 13 points for the visiting Doves (3-1).
