Franklin offensive lineman Patrick Allen commits to Georgia

Franklin offensive tackle Patrick Allen has committed to play football at Georgia.

The 6-foot-5, 265-pound senior announced his commitment Monday night on his Twitter page. "I know that yall are really hype to know that I am officially commiting to the University of Georgia," he wrote.

Allen, an All-Metro secondteam selection last season, helped the Indians to their first state championship as they outscored the opposition 167-42 in their four playoff games and defeated Linganore 20-7 in the Class 3A championship.

In June, Allen was one of only two players from the state to attend the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge at M&T Bank Stadium.

Allen's top five schools included Arkansas, Michigan, Oklahoma and Tennessee, according to the recruiting website Rivals.com.
