Former St. Frances forward Dwayne Morgan has made the USA Basketball Men’s U-18 National Team, the organization announced Sunday.
Morgan was named one of 15 finalists for the 12-member team last week.
“I’m really excited about the team. As it is every year, it was a really hard selection process because only 12 guys can be on the team," Billy Donovan, the national team coach, said in a statement. "We just tried not necessarily to take the 12 best players, we tried to take the guys that were going to make up the best team."
The USA team will practice until June 19 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. USA Basketball is hosting the 2014 FIBA Americas U18 Championship at the training center from June 20 to 24.
An All-Metro first-team selection after his senior season, Morgan averaged 17 points and nine rebounds per game for St. Frances. He's signed to play at UNLV.
