Three local quarterbacks came close to state records, highlighting Week Four of the high school football season.

Westminster’s Duke Etchison and Aberdeen's Lavell McCullers each threw six touchdown passes – one shy of the state record held by four players, including last year’s Owls quarterback Deryk Kern.

Chesapeake-AA’s Rashwan Shields threw for 439 yards, not far off the record of 475 set by Arundel’s Billy Cosh in 2008.

Lots of other numbers stood out in this weekend’s action. Here’s a look at some of them:
