Dulaney's Griffith accepted to Penn, will run cross country and track

Dulaney's Isabel Griffith said on Saturday she will run for the cross country and track teams at Penn next year.

Griffith was named The Baltimore Sun's cross country Runner of the Year this season after winning the Baltimore County title, Class 4A North region and then the Class 4A state title race. She won the 4A title after completing the 5K race in 18:26.2.

"I just knew I needed to get out there and set that pace and make it challenging," Griffith said in November. "I had a [good] feeling before the race."

Griffith learned she was accepted to Penn on Monday. On Saturday, she confirmed on Twitter that she would compete for the Division I Quakers.

"She is simply amazing, and that is a strong comment based on the athletes I had the opportunity to coach," Dulaney coach Chad Boyle said recently.
