Three-year starter is three-time All-Metro selection

Archbishop Curley's Nick Richardson, a three-time All-Metro selection heading into his senior season, has been named Maryland's Gatorade Soccer Player of the Year.

A central defender, Richardson was the driving force in the No. 2 Friars’ 19-4-2 season, which saw them take first place in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference during the regular season and reach a second straight championship game. He finished the fall season with four goals and six assists and led the Friars to nine shutouts.

After earning All-Metro second-team honors as a freshman, he has been a first-team selection the past two years.

In February, Richardson was invited to participate in the Under-17 U.S. Men’s National Team training camp in Bradenton, Fla.  In May, he made a commitment to play at Maryland.
