Mount Saint Joseph has named Rod Cameron its new baseball coach, succeeding Jody Harris.
Cameron has been at Mount Saint Joseph for the last 20 years, serving as an assistant coach under longtime coach Dave Norton and then Harris for three years. He's also a math teacher and assistant athletic director at the school.
Cameron has 35 years of coaching experience. Previously, he coached 16 seasons at Cardinal Gibbons starting in 1981, the last 11 as head coach. In 1985, he led the Crusaders to the Maryland Scholastic Association A Conference title.
"It is my privilege to announce the appointment of Rod as Mount Saint Joseph's next head varsity baseball coach,” said Kraig Loovis, director of athletics. “His level of experience, his understanding of our mission, his relationships with our current players and our alumni make him the right person for the job. I am confident that The Mount baseball program is in good hands."
Harris will continue to teach at the school.
