Calvert Hall to honor former soccer coach Bill Karpovich on Friday

Former Calvert Hall soccer coach Bill Karpovich will be honored during halftime of the school’s home varsity soccer game against Mount Saint Joseph on Friday. 

A pregame reception will take place in the Paul Angelo Russo Dining Hall from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and the game will begin at 7 p.m. Karpovich coached at Calvert Hall from 1967 to 1997 and finished with a 422-85-33 career record and 19 championships in the Maryland Scholastic Association and Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association. 

Karpovich, a Patterson High and Johns Hopkins University graduate, was a math teacher at Calvert Hall from 1967-2001 and the department chair from 1968-1987.

In his entire coaching and teaching career, Karpovich never missed a day of school or practice, according to a news release from Calvert Hall.
