Months before the football season began, we already had one of the top feel-good stories of the year. Nearly three years after suffering a paralyzing spinal cord injury in a scrimmage, former Western Tech linebacker Chris Mason-Hale took his first steps. "I took the initiative with my own life, I guess," said Mason-Hale, who rehabbed at The International Center for Spinal Cord Injury at Kennedy Krieger Institute. "I realized the only thing I couldn't do was what I didn't try."
