Boys’ Latin lacrosse coach Bob Shriver has been named the National Interscholastic Lacrosse Coaches Association (NILCA) High School Coach of the Year.
Shriver, who guided the Lakers to a 19-1 season in the spring, was recognized at the Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) banquet in Baltimore earlier this month.
The Lakers were 19-0 and ranked No. 1 nationally before falling to Loyola, 10-9, in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference championship.
A Boys' Latin and Washington College grad, Shriver completed his 38th season as a coach at his alma mater -- the past 34 years as head coach -- and has led the Lakers to five MIAA championships.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
