Boys basketball showcase to take place at St. Frances in early December

The second annual Shirts vs. Skins Basketball Classic is set for Dec. 2-3 at St. Frances.

The second annual Shirts vs. Skins Basketball Classic, a two-day high school basketball showcase featuring some top teams in five states, will take place Dec. 2-3 at St. Frances Academy.

Perennial area powers Mount Saint Joseph and host St. Frances are among the Maryland teams that will compete. Also participating will be top teams from Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and Virginia.

The name "Shirts vs. Skins" is an homage to childhood pickup games, but not a depiction of how the players are uniformed during the event.

In addition to two days of basketball -- seven games are on the slate -- the event also serves as a platform to help promote diabetes awareness, including information on diabetes detection and prevention.
