Archbishop Spalding athletic director Jeff Parsons announced the appointments of Joachim Walker as the school's new varsity boys soccer coach and Tuan Nguyen as its new varsity boys volleyball coach.

Walker, who played soccer at George Washington, spent the past four years as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Mount St. Joseph, where he was a two-time captain and member of the Gaels' 2004 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference championship team.

“We are extremely excited to have Joachim join our coaching staff, his accomplishments and the winning tradition that has followed him will carry over to Spalding," Parsons said in a statement. "His knowledge of the MIAA A Conference as both a player and coach will be vital as the program continues to grow."

Nguyen, who is a member of the U.S. Air Force, has been Spalding's junior varsity coach the past three seasons.

“We are extremely excited to have Tuan step up and coach, the relationship that he has already created throughout the Spalding Volleyball Community as well as his extensive volleyball experiences will help the program to flourish in the future.” Parsons said.
