Patterson basketball standout Aquille Carr, The Baltimore Sun's two-time All-Metro Player of the Year, has been selected to participate in the Under Armour Elite 24, a national high school event that includes a game and slam dunk contest set for Aug. 24-25 in Venice Beach, California.

The slam dunk contest will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, August 24 with the basketball game set to tip off at 7 p.m. Saturday. Both will air on ESPNU.

The showcase features 24 of the top high school players from across the nation, picked by ESPN basketball experts based on performance during summer play.

Carr, a 5-foot-7 point guard, averaged 24 points last year to lead the Clippers to the Class 3A state championship. The rising senior has committed to play at Seton Hall.
