Four local high school football players are among the early nominees to play in the 15th annual U.S. Army All-American Bowl Jan. 3.

Franklin offensive lineman Pat Allen, Gilman quarterback Kai Locksley and Calvert Hall defensive back Dionte Austin and wide receiver Lawrence Cager are among 12 Marylanders and 400 overall nominees.

Ninety seniors will be selected for the game. They will begin finding out Sept. 24 when the selection tour begins. Each nominee is honored with a pep rally at his school.

Other Marylanders among the nominees: Gaithersburg athlete Kamonte Carter, Damascus athlete Jalen Christian, Linganore lineman E.J. Donohue, Good Cousel lineman Darius Fullwood, DeMatha tight end Tyler Green, Potomac lineman Keiron Howard, Quince Orchard lineman Adam McLean and Eleanor Roosevelt lineman Isaiah Prince.
