Maryland's roster will include eleven local players for the 57th Annual Big 33 High School Football All-Star Classic showdown with Pennsylvania June 14 at Hersheypark Stadium.
Four of the players selected by coach Brian Van Deusen (River Hill) and his staff hail from the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference while seven come from public school teams.
Most of the local players are offensive players with five lineman expected to help bolster an area the Maryland team struggled with in last year's 58-37 loss. That marked Maryland's return to the rivalry after a 21-year absence during which Pennsylvania played Ohio.
Meade's Jake Hawk (Navy), Archbishop Spalding's Melvin Gowl (Air Force), Gilman's Sheldon Johnson (Army) and Fallston's Alex Helm and Levi Lloyd (Towson) will play on the line.
Also on offense will be Archbishop Spalding quarterback Zach Abey (Navy), The Baltimore Sun's Offensive Player of the Year, and Milford Mill wide receiver Reggie White Jr. (Monmouth). River Hill's Alex Potocko will handle the kicking.
Defensively, the team includes Meade defensive end Niquekko Cook (Towson), Broadneck linebacker Landon Reecher and McDonogh defensive back Josh Woods (Maryland).
