Carroll Varsity Roundup: Winters Mill boys, Manchester Valley girls top tri-meet at Man Valley

Manchester Valley seniors Andrew Jackson and Tayler Warehime finished first in their respective races at a tri-meet between Manchester Valley, Westminster and Winters Mill at Man Valley on Wednesday.

Jackson finished in 18:25.3 and Winters Mill’s Sean Gore (18:47.9), Jack Frantz (19:02.4), Tad Didio (19:27.9) and Brandon Bitz (20:05.5) followed up the next four finishes to lead the Falcons to a team victory with 25 points.

Warehime was accompanied by three more Mavericks to help round out the top 10 in 24-point team victory. Her victory was a first this season and she crossed the finish line in 24:24.5.

Westminster’s Kristina Kemp finished second in 24:46 in leading the Owls to second place.

Boys Soccer

Century 4, Patterson Mill 2

Recap: At Bel Air, Sterling Mead scored twice and added an assist in the victory. Chris Yanchoris and Bennett Bodner each added a goal and Aiden Lovelace notched an assist. Bradley Shipley made seven saves in goal for the Knights (8-3-1).

Field Hockey

North Harford 3, Manchester Valley 0

Recap: At Pylesville, Hannah Yaede had seven saves in goal and Madison Smith had two for the Mavericks (5-9).

JV result: Man Valley, 2-0.

Golf

Marriotts Ridge 155, Liberty 172

Recap: At River Downs, the Lions were paced by Brian Sadler’s 38. Gavin Greer shot a 46 and Justin Bartlowits and Tyger Zan both had a 44 for the Lions (12-3).
