Carroll Varsity Roundup: FCA volleyball rallies to top Carroll Christian

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ home-schooled volleyball team visited Carroll Christian on Friday night, and the Bravehearts put together a four-set win in Westminster.

FCA, based in Carroll County, came from behind to win 24-26, 25-12, 25-19, 25-21 and improve to 11-3.

Emily Johnston had 15 assists and seven digs for the Bravehearts, while Hannah Young posted 14 kills. Maddie Myers had 20 digs and four aces, and Natalie Marsch collected 10 kills and eight digs.

Carroll (13-3) got 16 assists from Lily Nelson and eight kills from Emma Paul.

JV result: FCA, 2-0.

Recap: At Annapolis, the Falcons (6-8, 6-6 MIAA B) prevailed behind goals from Malachi Darden and Jack Ebner. Nate Dresin had two assists.

Francis Scott Key 3, Chopticon 1

Recap: At Uniontown, the Eagles improved to 3-6-1 with a home victory. No information was reported.

Field Hockey

Westminster 5, Aberdeen 0

Recap: At Aberdeen, Haleigh Moore scored three goals and Veronica Maring added a goal and an assist. Kirby Henneman also scored for the Owls (10-3).
