Manchester Valley and Westminster competed alongside 12 teams in the Class 3A West Region indoor track meet at the Prince George’s Sporst and Learning Complex on Thursday in Landover.

The Mavericks crowned individual champions in Kelli Garriott (high jump) and Evan Bare (shot put). Garriott cleared 5 feet, 5 inches and Bare threw 47-5 — the duo also won the individual Carroll County titles in these events.

Andrew Jackson raced to second place in the 1,600 run in 4 minutes, 39 seconds.

Adam Melville and Josh Gerber both qualified for the 3A state meet in the high jump — Melville cleared 5-11 and Gerber cleared 5-9.

Mavs pole vaulter Katelynd Manno tied for third place and qualified for the state meet with a vault of 7-6.

Westminster’s results were not reported Thursday night, and the meet ended too late to be included in this edition.
