Old Mill coach Janet Liimatta said the Patriots will miss senior Alexis Franklin —and it's easy to see why.
Franklin become one of the state's better hurdlers ever. She won the 400-meter hurdles at the Penn Relay, arguably the most famous meet at any level. She also captured the 300 hurdles in the Class 4A state meet, setting a record with her time of 41.31 seconds.
She finished third at the state meet in the 100 meters after winning that race at the Anne Arundel County and Class 4A East Region meets.
She won the 300 at both those meets, too.
"I'm proud of my accomplishments," said Franklin, who will run for Ohio State next year. "I kind of want to leave here with kind of…a special mark."
Franklin was also the Indoor Track Performer of the Year this winter and the Track and Field Performer of the Year last spring.
