Coach: Chris Robinson
Postseason: IAAM A Conference champion
Outlook: The Eagles graduated key contributors from the team that won a fourth straight conference title and finished No. 1 in ESPN High School's Fab 50, but they return so many good players that they remain the clear front runners until someone beats them. That hasn't happened in nearly four years. The Eagles boast a powerhouse offense that is led by Megan Whittle and Sammi Burgess. New leaders are stepping up, and nearly everyone has game experience.
Coach: Jessica Randisi
Last season: 13-4, No. 2
Postseason: IAAM A Conference runner-up
Outlook: The Lions came within one goal of McDonogh in last year's A Conference final. With six returning starters, including stellar goalkeeper Caroline Federico, they'll try to finish this season with a win. There's a little rebuilding to do, especially in the midfield, but with 12 players back, it shouldn't take long.
3. Notre Dame Prep
Coaches: Mary Bartel, Lisa Costello
Last season: 10-9, No. 5
Postseason: IAAM A Conference semifinalist
Outlook: The buzz around the league is that the Blazers are on the rise this spring. Despite losing one of the league's best goalies and five other starters, they are exceptionally strong in the midfield and have a lot of young talent.
4. South River
Coach: Kim McNemar
Last season: 13-4, No. 8
Postseason: Class 4A-3A East regional semifinalist
