•Gave the Bulls a big lift in her first season in track, helping them to their first state title

•Her victory in the 1,600 proved crucial to Hereford's Class 3A championship run

•Won the 1,600 in the Class 3A Central region 1,600, edging teammate Emily VandeWater

Finished second — behind VandeWater — in the 1,600 at the Baltimore County title meet

Jessica Caldwell

McDonogh, senior

•Swept the long jump and triple jump at the IAAM championship meet

•Beat teammate Nancy Holt by one-quarter of an inch in the long jump

•Ran on the third-place 800 relay team in that meet

Also won the long jump and triple jump at last year's IAAM meet

Autumne Franklin

McDonogh, senior

•One of the area's most versatile athletes, can score points on and off the track

•Won the 55 hurdles and the 500 and ran on winning 1,600 relay at the IAAM championship meet

•Also posted top-10 times nationally in

55 hurdles and 300 in a meet at Virginia Tech and ran on a 1,600 relay team that turned in a top-10 national effort

•Will compete at Harvard next year
