Girls cross country runners to watch in 2014

Rebecca Bosanko

Severna Park, junior

Bosanko is poised for a strong season after running well in both cross country and track last year. She excelled in some big races, including a third-place finish in the Class 4A East Region meet.

Sarah Coffey

Hereford, junior

Coffey has had two very good seasons already and could be ready for bigger things this fall. She took second in the Class 2A state race last season after missing the regional the week before.

Allison Krein

River Hill, junior

Krein is coming off a very good sophomore year in which she took third in the Howard County title race, then second in the Class 3A East Region and fourth in the states.

Katie Leisher

Manchester Valley, senior

Leisher had outstanding seasons in cross country and track. She won the Class 1A state title at McDaniel College last fall by 1 minute, 16 seconds.

Shreya Nalubola

Centennial, senior

Nalubola anchored a solid Centennial state title team last fall. She won the Howard County, Class 3A East Region and state championship to complete an impressive postseason sweep.

Julie Nardone

Glenelg, senior

Nardone's been consistent in cross country and track in her first three years. Last year, she finished eighth in the Howard County title meet and the Class 3A state meet while taking fifth in the East Region.

Adria Pirozzi

John Carroll, sophomore

Pirozzi really came on in the latter part of last fall. Her best performance came in the IAAM championship, where she finished fourth as the Patriots won the team title.

Sarah Rinehart

Liberty, senior

Rinehart has been one of the area's top runners in cross country and track the past few years. Last fall, she won the Carroll County title and finished fifth in the Class 2A state race.

Maggie Seybold

McDonogh, junior

Seybold finished second in the IAAM title race last fall. The Eagles took second overall, and they'll need Seybold if they want to make a push for the top spot.

Reilly Wagner

South River, senior

Wagner helped South River to a great season last fall, running well throughout and finishing with a 12th-place finish in the tough Class 4A state race. The Seahawks will need her to step up and be a top runner, as they lost Carly Bunting to graduation.
