Girls basketball: Players to watch

Achiri Ade



Seton Keough, forward, senior

A strong inside presence and powerhouse on the boards, the 6-foot All-Metro first-team pick was a key down low for the IAAM A Conference semifinalists, averaging 17 points and 14rebounds. She has signed with James Madison.



Imani Bailey



Meade, guard, junior

After a breakout sophomore season, the second-team All-Metro pick will be critical to the Mustangs' ability to contend again for the Anne Arundel County title. An excellent passer, she averaged five assists along with 6.9 points and 6.1 steals.



Tracy Carrington



Dundalk, forward-guard, senior

The most dominant player in the Baltimore County league last season, the 5-8 second-team All-Metro player could do a bit of everything, averaging 25 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks. She scored 36 points against Catonsville in the county title game.



Shaquila Curtis



Archbishop Spalding, forward, senior

A second-team All-Metro selection a year ago, Curtis, who has committed to American, led the Cavaliers in rebounds with nine a game and steals with four a game. She also added 10 points a game while excelling defensively against the opposition's top scoring threat.



Candice Hendricks



McDonogh, forward, senior

Headed for Gannon University, the versatile 5-10 second-team All-Metro player is a 3-point threat who can also be a post presence. She led the Eagles in scoring with 12.3 points per game and in rebounding with seven per game.



Jasmine Hill



Oakland Mills, guard, junior

A versatile 6-footer, Hill can get up and down the floor and is a strong perimeter shooter, finishing second in Howard County last season in 3-pointers attempted. She averaged 14.5 points, seven rebounds and 4.3 assists a year ago.



Zameria Jones



Joppatowne, guard, senior

The cornerstone of a strong returning lineup, the 5-4 Jones averaged 17 points, 6.9 steals and 2.8 assists for the state Class 1A champs. A second-team All-Metro selection, she scored 18 in the state final and already has 1,260 career points.



Maggie Morrison



Archbishop Spalding, guard, senior

Headed for Vanderbilt, the All-Metro first-teamer is a coach on the floor. A leader with great court sense and keen decision-making, the 5-8 point guard averaged 11 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals last season.



Jannah Tucker



New Town, guard, sophomore

As a freshman, the 6-foot Tucker led state Class 3A runner-up Western in scoring with 11.3 points while contributing 4.7rebounds and 2.5 assists. Talented and smart beyond her years, she has the size, skill and agility to dominate in Baltimore County.



Ciara Webb



Patterson, guard, senior

A true point guard who can do so much more, the Towson-bound Webb has 1,031career points. She averaged 19.8points, 8.9rebounds, 7.9steals and 5.6assists, and has improved her outside shooting to match her moves to the basket.
