Girls Athlete of the Week: Dionna White, Milford Mill, basketball

The combo guard made a superb debut last week in leading the Millers to wins in their first three games of the season, averaging 21.3 points, eight steals, 7.3 rebounds and five assists. The 5-foot-8 freshman led the Millers (3-0) to a season-opening 77-48 win over Bladensburg in the Gerald Moore Jr. Classic with 27 points, five rebounds and four steals. In a 68-37 win over Southern-AA, White came close to a quadruple double with 19 points, 10 steals, nine rebounds and nine assists. In a 58-36 win over Owings Mills, she had 18 points, 10 steals and eight rebounds. White is a veteran of the Adidas-Maryland AAU program and has a 3.5 GPA.
