In her first season as a starter, the junior goalkeeper led the Huskies to a 2-0 upset win over then-No. 3 John Carroll in Friday's season opener. In her second season on varsity, Ehly dominated the penalty area to keep the persistent Patriots frustrated for all 80 minutes, finishing with 17 saves. Patterson Mill coach Mike Parker said Ehly was particularly strong in the opening five minutes when the Patriots dominated play. She also was smart and aggressive when leaving her goal line to snare a number of crosses. With the win, the Huskies moved to No. 14 in this week's poll. Ehly also plays varsity basketball at Patterson Mill.

Others considered: Julianna Shearer, Mount de Sales, field hockey; Casey Martinez, McDonogh, soccer.
