Girls Athlete of the Week: MiQueara Lewis, Digital Harbor, basketball

After leading the No. 5 Rams to the championship of the Island Division at the Bojangles Carolina Invitational in Charleston, S.C. last week, the senior was named tournament Most Valuable Player. She averaged 10 points, six rebounds and two blocks in victories over Goose Creek, S.C., 39-36; St. John the Baptist, N.Y., 48-39, and Ashley, S.C., 50-39. A 6-foot-1 forward and team captain who has signed with Delaware State, Lewis led a balanced Rams team to an 8-1 record with the wins over three teams that had a combined 31-4 record. A member of the National Honor Society, she has a 4.0 GPA. She played AAU basketball for the Maryland Lady Comets.
