* Finished with 25 goals and four assists to lead the Knights to their first Class 2A state title

* Scored eight of her team's 14 goals in the playoffs, including the go-ahead goal in the championship game against Hereford

* Provided both of her team's goals in its regional final win against Poolesville, then in the state semifinals scored both goals in regulation to force overtime against Glenelg

Leah DiGiandomenico

Mount de Sales, midfield, senior

* The center-midfielder controlled the ball in the middle of the field, consistently showing off some of the most fluid stick skills in the metro area

* Finished with 18 goals and eight assists for the Sailors, who went 19-1 and won the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland B Conference title

* Will continue her field hockey career next year at James Madison

* Participated in USA Field Hockey's National Futures Championship and AAU Junior Olympics this past summer

Morgan Philie

Glenelg, midfield, senior

* A four-year varsity starter at center-midfield who was the centerpiece of a team that captured the Class 2A East region title

* Finished the season with nine goals and eight assists

* Selected third-team All-American and first-team Mid-Atlantic region last season by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association

* Will continue her field hockey career next season at Dartmouth

Sabrina Rhodes

C. Milton Wright, midfield, junior

* Was the top player on the area's top-ranked team, using unrivaled stick work to lead the Mustangs to an 18-1 mark and the Class 3A state title
